Summer Sessions

This summer has been an exciting one here at Opus Magnum Studio. The rooms have been buzzing with ideas, and we’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible local talent. Music is always at the heart of what we do, but the projects we’ve been a part of lately have reminded us just how many different forms creativity can take.

One highlight of the summer has been recording and mixing for a local artist who is preparing to release music tied to a video project. The sound has a pop foundation but is shaped by original, unconventional influences. It is a style that pulls the listener in immediately, but it also challenges expectations. At times it brings to mind the spirit of David Bowie, who always found ways to reinvent his sound and image. Working on these tracks has been inspiring and rewarding.

Back in Opus Magnum Studio…

We also picked up again with Folkarvets Rader, the country band we collaborated with all spring. After dropping their debut EP, Sista Rullen, the group wasted no time diving back into the creative process. They have been hard at work writing and preparing fresh material, and we will be back in the studio with them this fall to bring those songs to life. It’s always a energy and dedication through every session.

Meanwhile, the Opus Magnum Music family is also looking ahead. Siggy Jackson, Ayman, and TommyBravo are all planning to drop more music later this year. After the reception of their summer release RDSLA (Screw Freestyle), anticipation is high. These artists always keep things fresh, and we are excited to support them as they prepare new material.

Another exciting milestone this summer was welcoming MikeLitz to the Opus Magnum Music label. He marked the occasion with his debut release, Drifting, a track that shows his unique perspective and sound. It has been a proud moment for us to help launch his journey, and we’re thrilled to continue working with him as he grows and evolves as an artist.

As we head into the holidays and wrap up an incredible year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the amazing experiences and creative projects we’ve had the pleasure of working on with you. 2024 has been filled with new faces, exciting collaborations, and an inspiring variety of musical styles—from the vibrant beats of African Pop to the heartfelt melodies of Swedish Country. Each project has brought something unique and special to our studio. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented and passionate clients.

To cap off the year, we had the joy of hosting a family recording session that was truly one for the books! This lovely group came in with big smiles and even bigger hearts, eager to record a cover of a popular Swedish Christmas song. What followed was 2 hours of pure joy, laughter, and unforgettable energy in the studio—proof that music really does bring people together.
