Since the very first days of 2026, the studio has been buzzing with something special. We’ve been deep in the process of recording a full-length debut album for Folkarvets Rader, the Swedish country duo that has quietly become one of our favorite acts to work with. It’s been a project full of long sessions, big laughs, and great songwriting.

Hoppet — The First Single Is Out Now

Last Saturday, Folkarvets Rader dropped Hoppet, the first single off the upcoming album, and it did not disappoint.

If you’ve followed the band since their debut EP Sista Rullen, you already know what they’re about: gritty, honest storytelling wrapped in a warm country sound that feels both timeless and distinctly Swedish. “Hoppet” is exactly that, and then some. It’s a folky, roots-driven track that finds the beauty and the absurdity in the everyday grind. The kind of music that makes you nod along because you know that feeling. Life doesn’t always make sense, but somehow Folkarvets Rader find a way to make it sound fun at least.

The production on this track was a labor of love. We wanted to honor the raw, lived-in quality of their songwriting while giving it the fullness and depth that a proper studio recording deserves. We think it shows.

Sen början på året har det surrats av något alldeles särskilt i studion. Vi har suttit djupt inne i arbetet med att spela in ett debut album åt Folkarvets Rader, det svenska countrybandet som sakta men säkert har blivit ett av våra absoluta favoritsällskap att jobba med. Det har varit ett projekt fyllt av långa sessions, många skratt och bra musik.

Förra lördagen släppte Folkarvets Rader Hoppet, den första singeln från det kommande albumet, lämna inget att önska.

Om du följt bandet sedan deras debut-EP Sista Rullen vet du redan vad de går ut på: ärligt och jordnära berättande inlindat i ett varmt countrysound som känns både tidlöst och distinkt svenskt. “Hoppet” är precis det, och lite till. Det är en folkig, rotad låt som hittar både det vackra och det absurda i vardagens slit. Den sortens låt som fåt dig att nicka för att du känner igen dig. Livet är inte alltid logiskt, men Folkarvets Rader lyckas på något sätt göra det roligt i alla fall.

Produktionen på den här låten var ett riktigt kärleksarbete. Vi ville hedra den råa, levda kvaliteten i deras låtskrivande och samtidigt ge det den fylliga och djupa känsla som en riktig studioinspelning förtjänar. Vi tycker att det hörs.

A Tribute to DJ Screw’s Legacy

“RDSLA (Screw Freestyle)” pays homage to the legendary DJ Screw, the pioneer of chopped and screwed hip-hop. True to that influence, the track is intentionally slowed down, with down-pitched vocals that pull you deep into its atmosphere. On Friday we finally get some new music from Ayman. This track, called Blå, is a commentary on the ongoing street-gang violence occurring in Sweden. Lately things have reached an untenable level of violence with bombings and shooting a near everyday occurrence.

Music inspired by the tragic stories of people behind the headlines.

Because of the frequency of the violence as of late, it’s easy to forget the stories in the paper are about actual people in our society. Neighbours, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, relatives. This song personifies this into the story of a young man growing up in the wrong neighbourhood. It is a story that is all too relatable for too many people today. A story that happens so often it’s easy to become numb to it.

Our culture is used to perpetuate violence and spread gang-related imagery. This is something all of us here at Opus Magnum disagree with. We see the discussion in society that ties our beloved hip.hop culture to this violence and it’s dive deeper into the bond between gang-violence and hip-hop in a special post here.

The Record

We recorded Blå at Opus Magnum Studio back in late ’21. It has gone through several renditions before the final version was cut and completed during late spring ’23. Ayman projects powerful themes over a heavy, trap-inspired beat by Siggy Jackson meant to create a wistful ambiance to fit the story’s content. The hook has a tendency of sticking to your brain and is almost impossible to not want to sing along.

Alexandra is active with a new release!

Alexandra is hot again with her new single ALLTING VACKERT!

The song was produced, mixed and mastered by us.

Alexandra is growing into her own as an artist. At only 16 years old she explores themes and emotions in her songs with a poetry of someone much older.

This new single explores love and the tenderness in life. A emotionally loaded song with well crafted lyrics. The melody amplifies this message and touches the listener.

This has been a big week for all of us here at Opus Magnum. We are glad to announce some awesome news!

Yesterday Alexandra Askerlund released her debut single MÖRKBLÅ. This track has been a while in the making and we are so excited for her. Alexandra is a star in the making and it is so fun to be working with such a talented young artist. Her enthusiasm and hustle is admirable. Alexandra is greatly inspired by Veronica Maggio who she often references during studio sessions as a huge influence on her sound.

Mörkblå is a very personal track about love. The melancholy energy of the song is perfectly reflected in its name. Mörkblå is both the title and the vibe of this record. Alexandra doesn’t hold back and bares it all in her music. The end result is quality authentic music.

FLOODSEASON is back and we are kicking things off with a smash from Ayman called MOONTALK. This track is one that some of y’all might remember from when we wrote it. Ayman spent several hours live-streaming from the studio writing this track. It is a deep journey through the lamentations of the mind. Almost therapeutic in a way.

What a summer it has been! Packed full of slaps from the Opus Magnum Music crew. FEELINGS was such a bop and we are elated at the response from you guys after the release. It really is a vibe and we’re excited you are feeling it with us.

Floodseason II – next release

As we head in to the fall we just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that we are far from over with the second iteration of Flood Season. There is plenty more to come. We have some really cool songs coming up that we have been working on for a while and can’t wait to finally release out into the world.

Coming up shortly we have a long awaited Ayman track dropping. This release has been teased and worked on for a while and we are finally ready to share it with y’all. It’s called MOONTALK and drops on Oct. 7. This song was largely recorded while on TikTok Live and you superfans will remember when we were writing this song last fall. This is a release we are really excited for you guys to finally hear.

Summer 2022

This summer we have spent the time blowing off some steam outside of the studio. Gathering inspiration and enjoying time with our friends and family. Andreas welcomed a new addition to the family, Loi was born a healthy 2975 grams. We are so happy for them all! Alex has had some family visiting from out of town. Other than that we have mostly been chopping it up with Ayman and TommyBravo most of the summer just discussing music and enjoying some new music and new inspirations. Among these have been some deep dives into old blues and some of the earliest stuff recorded. It has been an interesting walk through history.

We have been working with some new talent in the studio. This young artist is gearing up for her first solo release of original music. She is a singer/songwriter who leans into the current pop vibe going on in Sweden. She is already very active on the troubadour scene with several shows this summer. You can check out her instagram here. Keep your eyes glued for more information on her.

Summer Vibe

It has been a wonderful start of the summer here in Sweden. This is such a lovely time of the year. As long as the sun stays out.

It was such a great release of Icig! We had such wonderful responses from y’all about that track! It also seemed like a lot of you enjoyed the bonus track on that release! 🤘 keep posted for more surprises like that.

We are taking full advantage of the times and having a cookout outside the studio on Saturday 23/7. This is a great time to come by and check out the facilities, see what we are all about and get a feel for the studio and us as a group. We will be offering cheeseburgers and hot-dogs as well as sodas to drink.

Later that evening we will also host a Cypher where you can come drop some bars and flex your chops.

We hope you come by and check it out!

Next up on the release docket is a smash from Ayman & TommyBravo called Feelings. This track is something special and we are SUPER excited to release this one. Ayman really pushes his range in this track in a fantastic way. TommyBravo definitely puts the icing on the cake. The soul in the production on this is something Siggy is very proud of. This is absolutely something special. It features a smooth vocal based production with sultry percussions.

Flood Season is in full swing for sure! We will be releasing some merchandise soon that we can finally start selling. Keep an eye out for when they are available and you can start rocking the Opus Magnum Logo or even a FLOODSEASON T-shirt.

We are finally taking some time off in the sun and gonna spend the next few weeks of summer resting up and getting back in the zone to start eyeing our next docket of music. But our releases will most definitely continue with another drop in a few days. And another after that, lol.

the history of flood season

Last year we had a summer/fall full of drops from Ayman, Siggy Jackson and TommyBravo that we called Flood Season. It was the collective name of all the tracks and projects that we dropped last year.

Well now it is the beginning of June, and Flood Season 2 is fast approaching. And man, do we have a lot of heavy drops coming up this season. Strap in and get ready for the best time of the year.

This season brings several singles from Ayman, collaborations between him and TommyBravo and Siggy Jackson behind the wheel producing all the beats. We are also featuring a few new artists this season. Stay tuned to find some new flavour layered in.

This season will also last longer with more releases from the artists we are working closely with.

We have spent all winter in the bunker working on new material that we are excited to share with y’all. The sounds will range from the hard and heavy to the more sentimental and ambient. These tracks are some of the deepest we have made yet and hope you all share in the dissection of the tracks with us. We have branched out to more collaborations and are working with artists from locally here in Örebro to international talent from South America. This year we have spent more time ensuring that we stay true to the vision we are creating and not following the general noise around us. There needs to be some form of self control or integrity where you know what it is you want to say and what you want to do. It’s just a matter of staying true to that vision.

We have also tried to be more engaged socially with livestreams on TikTok and the like to share more moments from the studio than just the finished products. Make sure to check out the links at the bottom and follow Ayman on TikTok to find these livestreams and glimpses into our daily work. We have some more surprises in this avenue coming your way shortly.

Flood Season 2 kicks off with a brutal drop from Ayman called SAVAGE. This track’s drums slam and the distorted delivery from Ayman fills out the ruggedness of this record. Slamming his flag in the ground Ayman proclaims he is here to stay and the game needs to make room. It is a heavy track with plenty of symbolism and depth we can’t wait to share with you. Honestly, it might be the hardest release of the season here to kick it off. But this years Flood Season only gets better from here.
